Open to everyone until Thursday, October 29
To keep it, print it while it is open.
In front crawl, your arms take turns pulling you through the water while your legs kick fast and small. You keep your face in the water and turn your head to the side to breathe.
In the picture
- Recovery arm: swings forward above the water
- Pulling arm: pushes the water back under your body
- Flutter kick: straight legs kick up and down, one after the other
- Breathing: head turns to the side, mouth just out of the water
Examples
- Swimming lengths during a swimming lesson at school
- Racing a friend across the pool on holiday
Key takeaways
- Front crawl is the fastest swimming stroke
- Breathe by turning your head to the side, not by lifting it up
