Singing a Round

A round uses one melody that everyone sings. Each group starts at a different time, so the voices overlap and make harmony.

In the picture

  1. Open mouth of a singer: the melody already underway.
  2. Half-open mouth of a singer: the same melody starting a little later.
  3. Just-opening mouth of a singer: the same melody beginning now.

Examples

  • Singing 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat' in a round.
  • Singing 'Frère Jacques' in a round.
